I know it’s been a long time since I went to Nepal in October of 2024, and sorry for the delay in
getting this update to you. Life has been pretty crazy—Wells just turned one, and we actually
have our second one due next month! Even though this is coming to you a bit late, I really
wanted to share how the Lord moved during my time in Nepal and thank you for your support.
Our trip centered around a 5-day disciple-making conference in a rural mountain village a few
hours outside of Kathmandu. The conference was organized by our host Dr. Ananda, who also
translated for us. It was humbling to see about 40 people—pastors, wives, and their
kids—travel from all over to be there. Some even took an 8-hour bus ride just to attend! We
taught for 6–7 hours a day and spent our free time eating and fellowshipping together. I got to
teach two lessons I had been preparing for months. After the conference, we spent three days
camping even further into the mountains with another pastor in his village. I actually had the
honor of being the first American to ever teach at their local church there. Between sessions,
we stayed busy grilling meat, playing volleyball, and singing songs around the fire.
We finished the trip back in Kathmandu. We got to teach at our host Dr. Ananda’s home
church and eat with his family, which was such a gift. We also visited a local Hindu temple, and
I have to tell you, it was one of the darkest, saddest places I’ve ever been. There was a heavy
feeling of depression in the air, honestly a lot like the feeling you get in Vegas. It really
reinforced why we were there to share the hope of Christ.
Just say “yes” and he will do the rest : While teaching from Galatians 4:4-7, I felt the Holy
Spirit show up in a way I’ve never experienced. I had clarity and words that weren't even in my
notes! It really hit home that when we say "yes" to God, He handles the rest. I am always
tempted to try and take control, but my plans are not like his plans.
God is so big : His love and purpose for all believers is for the whole world, not just Jackson Tn.
I knew this before going, but being there allowed me to experience it. The most meaningful
conversation on the trip was with John, Dr. Ananda’s son. We connected easily through similar
interests and growing up in a Christian home. We were able to have deep, vulnerable
conversations around the campfire while camping. The two of us were the only ones around
the fire that knew English, so it allowed us to go deep. The Lord moved in that conversation.
Even though John and I grew up on opposite sides of the globe, we were now brothers with so
much in common and we still text and video chat from time to time. That trip also changed
how I see things here in Jackson; I’ve started looking for "the nations" right in my own
backyard, trying to find ways to connect with people the same way our hosts connected with
us.
Thank you again for sending me. Your support didn't just get me a plane ticket; it opened the
door for God to do some lifelong work in me and in the people we met. I’m so grateful.
So now where is the Lord taking me? I get to reunite with Dr. Ananda, his wife, and two of his
disciples in Sri Lanka in November of 2026! We are getting to go to teach and train, just like we
did in Nepal! Please join me in praying for open hearts in Sri Lanka.
Every trip is a partnership between those who go and those who send. Find a mission you're passionate about and join us in reaching the nations.

In July, a team of 8 men are teaching a disciple making conference with the help of Diego and his disciples.

In July 2026, a team will travel to Ghana to partner with local pastors and church leaders. The trip will focus on providing targeted training, resources, and mutual encouragement to help strengthen the local church and equip its leaders to spread the Gospel.
